Job summary

Ramboll Poland in Kraków seeks a Renewable Energy/BESS Specialist to support delivery of battery energy storage and hybrid PV/wind projects. You will engage in technical work, client liaison, and construction-stage support across MV/HV infrastructure and grid connection reviews.

You will collaborate with investors, designers, and contractors, steadily taking ownership of project workstreams with Ramboll specialists' guidance and development opportunities toward senior technical roles.

Qualifications

• A university degree in a relevant technical discipline (Electrical/Power Engineering).
• At least three years' experience in power infrastructure or energy projects.
• Basic knowledge of grid connection processes for energy facilities and cooperation with grid operators.
• Experience in renewable energy sectors (PV, wind, BESS) and MV/HV/EHV installations.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient English for technical documentation and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Owner's Engineer services and technical due diligence for renewable energy investments.
• Provide technical support for BESS and hybrid PV/wind projects.
• Develop grid connection concepts and review grid operator requirements.
• Review design docs, single-line diagrams, specs and contractor proposals.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, FAT/SAT and ensure construction aligns with design.

Renewable Energy/BESS Specialist

Location: Ramboll Poland, Kraków

About the Role

We are looking for a specialist to support the delivery of renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will participate in Battery Energy Storage System projects and hybrid projects combining BESS with photovoltaic and wind power installations.

The role combines technical work, collaboration with clients and designers, and client-side support during the construction phase. The successful candidate will receive support from Ramboll specialists and will have the opportunity to gradually take responsibility for selected project workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery of Owner's Engineer services, Technical Due Diligence and technical advisory assignments for renewable energy investors, including:

• Providing technical support for BESS and hybrid projects incorporating PV and wind power installations.
• Supporting the development of grid connection concepts for renewable energy projects.
• Reviewing grid connection conditions, technical requirements and documentation issued by grid operators.
• Working on MV, HV and EHV infrastructure projects, including substations and cable lines.
• Reviewing design documentation, single-line diagrams, technical specifications and contractors’ proposals.
• Participating in site visits, technical inspections, acceptance procedures, FAT and SAT
• Monitoring the compliance of construction works with design documentation, client requirements and applicable standards.
• Cooperating with investors, designers, contractors, equipment suppliers DSOs and the TSO.
• Identifying technical and grid connection risks and preparing recommendations for the project team.
• Preparing reports, technical schedules, summaries and other project documentation in Polish and/or English.

Requirements

• A university degree in a relevant technical discipline, preferably Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in power infrastructure or energy projects.
• Basic knowledge of the grid connection process for power generation and energy storage facilities, including cooperation with power system operators.
• Experience in the renewable energy sector, for example in PV, wind power or BESS projects.
• Knowledge of MV, HV and/or EHV electrical installations and infrastructure.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently and effective cooperation within multidisciplinary teams.
• Working proficiency in English, enabling the candidate to work with technical documentation and participate in project meetings.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Construction site experience involving supervision, inspections, acceptance procedures, commissioning or the delivery of power infrastructure.
• Knowledge of the process for obtaining grid connection conditions and implementing grid connection agreements.
• Experience working with PSE or DSOs
• Experience in the delivery of Owner's Engineer, Technical Due Diligence or technical advisory assignments.
• Experience in project management, schedule management and work coordination.
• Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar engineering tools.
