Tripadvisor Experiences Engineering is seeking a product-focused Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This full-stack role leverages Java, SQL, React, AWS and AI tools to build scalable systems powering millions of travel experiences globally.

The role supports a remote-first model with periodic in-person gatherings at office hubs in London, Oxford, Krakow or Lisbon, offering a flexible schedule and strong engineering leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

Deep understanding of concurrent programming in distributed systems.
Experience building high-performance backend systems in cloud environments.
Strong ability to turn strategy into technical specs and lead multi-quarter initiatives.
Experience with modern backend languages (Java, C#, Go, Python) and frontend frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design of features with focus on security, privacy, and performance.
Translate product and data goals into clear technical specs and provide technical leadership.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and raise code quality standards.
Use AI tools to plan approaches, decompose work, and set reliability standards.
Define operational strategy and fault-tolerant architectures for long-term stability.
Help simplify and modernize legacy systems to increase velocity.
