EducationSuperHighway is seeking a Senior Contract Software Engineer to join a small engineering team remotely and contribute to a critical payroll and giving platform. You will work directly with the platform designer and help extend integrations ahead of a 2027 launch.

You will make architecture decisions, tackle third-party integrations, and own parts of the codebase from build to launch and beyond. This is a contract role with a strong path to full-time for the right candidate.

Formación

• 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience building production web applications.
• Early-stage startup experience, comfort with ambiguity, building from 0 to 1 in a small team.
• Demonstrated use of AI coding tools as a regular part of development workflow (planning, coding, debugging, refactoring).
• Mature judgment about AI outputs: knowing when to trust, correct, or set tools aside.
• Strong third-party API integration experience, esp. with OAuth and payroll/HRIS APIs.
• Experience modeling relational data for complex, multi-tenant stateful workflows.
• Proven ability to build and maintain reliable background job pipelines with named queues and observability.
• Secure handling of PII and financial data.
• Comfort deploying and monitoring a production service with DevOps support.
• Clear communication in early-stage, ambiguous environments.

Responsabilidades

• Build on the existing API-first full-stack platform and extend it toward launch.
• Integrate payroll and HRIS providers (Finch, ADP, Dayforce, Workday, UKG) with automated data sync and write-back.
• Build direct integrations for provider reach using Rippling and handle assisted connections.
• Maintain a provider-agnostic integration layer for adding new payroll providers.
• Develop enrollment flows and employer-facing dashboards for multiple employers and recipients on a multi-tenant platform.
• Design reliable background job pipelines with status tracking and error visibility.
• Support money movement and reconciliation with a payments/ledgering provider.
• Create compliant document workflows and year-end receipts delivery.
