Job summary

Proxify seeks a Senior Backend Rust Developer to lead core system work for client teams. You will architect and build low-latency, memory-safe microservices, transitioning from legacy services to modern Rust architectures.

You will own design decisions, emphasize safety, and work across distributed components in a fully remote setup. You will work with Rust, Tokio, Axum/Actix-web, PostgreSQL, and cloud deployments on AWS/GCP/Azure while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade Rust applications with memory safety and low latency.
• Strong understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and Send/Sync traits.
• Proficiency with Tokio and asynchronous programming patterns.
• Experience with Rust web frameworks (Axum/Actix-web/Rocket).
• Design distributed systems using gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge and async ORMs like sqlx/Diesel.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with profiling tools (Flamegraph/Valgrind) to optimize high-load apps.
• Excellent English communication and ability to lead technical discussions.
• Time zone CET +/- 3 hours; remote-from CET regions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly performant backend services that are robust and type-safe.
• Lead the shift toward memory-safe distributed systems with zero-cost abstractions.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews emphasizing Rust idioms and safety.
• Architect RESTful and gRPC APIs for frontend/mobile consumption.
• Maintain high-quality tests including unit/integration and property-based tests.
