Job summary

payabl. is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join the APM team and strengthen QA practices across the stack. You will own QA activities, help establish automated testing, and enable engineers to ship high-quality features.

The role combines test automation, API/backend testing, debugging, and manual testing when needed. You will collaborate with the Gateway engineering team to validate new features and improve overall testing practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in QA Automation
• Hands-on experience with Python-based test frameworks (PyTest) and Playwright or Selenium
• Experience with API and backend testing
• Ability to design clear, maintainable test cases
• Strong debugging skills and log analysis
• Good communication and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated test frameworks using Python (PyTest, Playwright, Selenium)
• Create and execute test cases based on new feature implementations
• Perform API and backend testing ensuring data integrity and correct system behavior
• Conduct manual testing when needed to ensure full test coverage
• Analyse logs and system flows to identify issues and root causes
• Document and track defects with clear reproduction steps
• Collaborate with engineers to validate features and improve testing practices
• Take ownership of QA activities across the APM environment
