Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Product Manager to lead the Ubuntu Desktop roadmap, collaborating with engineering, design, marketing and sales to translate strategy into actionable plans and successful market launches.

You will work within a globally distributed team, embracing open source values, and leveraging a strong technical background. The role is remote in the EMEA region with occasional in-person sprints and international travel.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic results at high school and university.
• Understanding of Linux and the open source community.
• Understanding of computer architecture, enterprise IT, cloud or devices.
• Outstanding English communication, verbal and written.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for company events.

Responsibilities

• Lead the product development lifecycle for Ubuntu Desktop, aligning priorities and goals.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing and sales to drive roadmap and launches.
• Conduct market research, analyze trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities.
• Communicate vision, status updates and decisions to stakeholders to manage expectations.
• Conduct usability testing and iterate on the product to improve user experience.
• Develop go-to-market strategies, create product documentation, and provide training with cross-functional teams.
• Support sales in winning opportunities by reviewing customer feedback and participating in meetings.
