Job summary

N-iX is seeking a Lead Java/Kotlin/AI Engineer to shape and scale AI-driven systems for a major ecommerce client. You will lead architecture, design reviews, and hands-on implementation across the full AI lifecycle.

The role emphasizes Generative AI, multi-agent architectures, and production-grade delivery with strong engineering leadership. Flexible remote/office options are available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software or AI engineering experience.
• 3+ years leading complex technical initiatives across teams.
• Hands-on ability to design and implement complex production systems.
• Proficient in Java, Kotlin or JVM languages.
• Experience designing and operating production AI systems handling high traffic.
• Ability to lead discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence senior partners.
• Hands-on with Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, REST/GraphQL/gRPC, observability, CI/CD, and production support.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and optimization of scalable AI systems.
• Serve as the technical owner for high-impact AI initiatives across services.
• Design and build agent-led experiences and backend AI workflows.
• Translate opportunities into clear technical strategies, plans, and milestones.
• Drive architectural decisions for reliable, scalable AI platforms.
• Mentor engineers and oversee reviews and production readiness.
• Advance the GenAI platform with reusable components and APIs.
• Maintain strong collaboration with Product, Data, Platform, and Eng teams.
