Job summary

Geographic Technologies Group is seeking a GIS Technician to perform GIS program activities, producing maps, spatial databases, and themed data across various government sectors. You will create, adjust, and distribute base maps while developing user interfaces and macro-level commands to meet client needs.

The role requires ArcGIS Desktop/Pro familiarity, data validation, and potential GPS field collection. Travel may occur, with supervision and ongoing training provided by GIS staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GIS data applications for government and public sector.
• Experience with GIS data organization, creation, editing, and metadata.

Responsibilities

• Conduct GIS program activities to produce maps, spatial databases, and thematic data.
• Write programs and develop interfaces, menus, and macros to meet user needs.
• Perform data migration and conversion tasks; validate data quality.
