Job summary

Tripadvisor is seeking a Security Engineer to join our Product-Focused Incident Response team. You will secure our AWS production environment, build automated monitoring, and guide secure coding practices across engineering.

Responsibilities include incident lifecycle management, vulnerability triage, and leveraging AI tools to improve detection and response times. This is a remote Poland-based role with a global-first mindset and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience securing a production AWS environment (GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF).
• Understanding core AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, EKS).
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Proven incident response lifecycle experience from detection to post-mortem.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash to automate tasks.
• Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10 and defense strategies.
• Ability to work with a global-first mindset and leverage AI tooling to improve security work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and investigate security alerts from AWS infrastructure, app logs, and tooling.
• Respond to incidents impacting the Tripadvisor Experiences application, including data breaches or outages.
• Triage vulnerabilities from bug bounty programs and external sources.
• Build and maintain automated security monitoring and alerting in production.
• Automate security operations tasks using scripting languages.
• Configure, tune, and manage WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub.
• Operationalize findings from SAST/DAST/SCA with engineering teams and mentor secure coding practices.
