Job summary

EDV Werke is seeking a Data Ingestion Engineer to work remotely from Poland. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, ingest external data sources, and optimize data models using Iceberg for Silver and Gold layers.

The role involves ensuring data quality, performance tuning of SQL, Iceberg, Athena, and Spark workloads, and documenting processes for knowledge sharing. The position emphasizes hands-on AWS services, CI/CD practices, and modern orchestration with Airflow.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable, reliable data pipelines.
• Strong Python and SQL with performance-focused optimization.
• Expertise in data modeling and schema design.
• Hands-on AWS data services (Athena, Lambda, Aurora, Glue, SageMaker).
• Experience with automated testing and data quality practices.
• Familiarity with Airflow and modern data orchestration.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipelines – Develop and maintain scalable pipelines by extending Lambda functions, SQL queries, and processing jobs.
• Data Ingestion – Integrate external data sources and refactor ingestion and transformation processes to support new datasets.
• Data Modeling – Design and optimize scalable data models using Iceberg for Silver and Gold data layers.
• Data Quality – Implement automated validation and quality checks to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
• Performance Optimization – Optimize SQL queries, Iceberg tables, Athena queries, and Spark workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
• Documentation – Document data preparation processes, transformations, technical decisions, and code to support knowledge sharing.
