As a Reliability Engineer (Platform), you will use automation and other technologies to handle challenging failures and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve failure risks at the source. The SRE team treats Operations as a software problem and applies software engineering approaches to solve it.

Your tasks will include:

• Engineering and maintaining highly available, secure, and cost-effective container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and ECS
• Developing Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) solutions to simplify and improve software deployments, enabling high velocity for Product Engineering teams
• Developing robust monitoring and observability services and patterns to improve failure detection, response, and recovery
• Collaborating with Technology Engineering, Development, and Product Management to develop, scale, and improve production systems and services
• Partnering with service teams to provide documentation, cross-training, architecture planning, capacity management, and future recommendations
• Engineering technical solutions to prevent or reduce failures
• Writing clean, correct code, creating test plans, and reviewing code for quality improvements

To be a good fit, you will have:

• 2+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1 year with a Master’s; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
• Experience in Python, Golang, and/or Typescript with a software engineering mindset
• Experience administering Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS and Terraform
• Experience with Docker containerization
• Understanding of CI/CD principles
• Knowledge of networking systems, identity, and authorization systems
• Problem-solving and collaboration skills
• Some knowledge of Istio, Bash, Linux, Helm

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience with platform and service mesh technologies such as Docker, Envoy, Consul, ECS, Mesos/Marathon
• Experience with monitoring solutions like metrics platforms, logging, distributed tracing
• Experience with Fluentd/Fluentbit
• Experience with Rego, Gatekeeper
