Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. Krakow invites engineers to join the Valve Electronics team developing MACH products for HVDC systems. You will contribute to hardware design and lifecycle with a focus on reliability and testing in a brand-new on-site lab.

The role requires a Master or Bachelor in Electronics, 2+ years in analogue circuit design, and strong knowledge of EMC, Power Integrity, and power electronics topologies. English at least B2 and collaborative, curious mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of analogue circuit board design experience with DFMEA/MTBF concepts.
• Experience in Power Electronics topologies and magnetics.
• Understanding EMC principles and Power Integrity.
• Experience with lab test equipment and metrology fundamentals.
• Knowledge of PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes (DFM).
• Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and good communication skills.
• English level at least Intermediate / B2.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MACH products in Valve Electronics domain.
• Contribute to full hardware platform lifecycle from ideas to release.
• Participate in technical reviews and project planning.
• Improve documentation, design and testing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with team to ensure reliability and robustness of HVDC hardware.

Now we are looking for enthusiasts who would like to strengthen our growing team in Hitachi Energy Technology Center in Krakow, contributing to the heart of HVDC station: Modular Advanced Control for HVDC (MACH™).

You will join Valve Electronics team lead by Yuriy Puchkov, applying your knowledge and skills in technology and product development.

• You will participate in development and maintenance of MACH products in Valve Electronics domain, making them even more reliable and robust, influencing HVDC and GPQSS technology of Hitachi.
• You will share your competence with the organization, making our product development process more efficient, driving improvements in our documentation, design and testing infrastructure to make it adequate for current and future needs.
• You will contribute to the full lifecycle of hardware platform for Control & Protection system, from ideas, requirements, simulations, prototyping, testing up to release & sustaining production.
• You will participate in technical reviews and project planning.

Your background

• At least Master/Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years professional analogue circuit board design experience, including design quality and reliability (DFMEA, MTBF, etc) and tools (e.g. SPICE, Altium, Zuken CADSTAR, PADS…).
• Experience in Power Electronics – industry proven topologies, modern semiconductor components and magnetics, design for 1kV and above.
• Understanding of EMC principles, Power Integrity and management.
• Experience with laboratory test and measurement equipment, circuit boards testing and reworking, metrology fundamentals.
• Understanding electronic circuit boards manufacturing process (PCB, PCBA, DFM, etc).
• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and good communication skills.
• English language – at least Intermediate / B2.
