Job summary

Demant Polska is seeking an R&D Mechanical Engineer to join a newly formed team supporting the Consumables business area. The role offers influence over solutions from early stages and direct contribution to the future development of the team and product portfolio.

This full-time, hybrid position focuses on designing and industrializing high-volume plastics, collaborating with suppliers, and ensuring successful transfer to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least three years of experience designing mechanical solutions.
• Experience designing plastic components for injection molding and DFx considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and industrialize high-volume consumables/accessories, focusing on plastics and injection molding.
• Drive supplier collaboration for tooling, materials, and process capability.
• Plan and execute verification for consumables and deliver clear reports.
• Support transfer to production with work instructions and acceptance criteria.

What tasks are waiting for you?

• Design and industrialize high-volume consumables/accessories (focus on plastics and injection molding, DFM/DFA, tolerances, cost reduction).
• Drive supplier collaboration (tooling, material selection, process capability) and support sourcing decisions together with procurement.
• Plan and execute verification for consumables (fit/function, durability, biocompatibility-related inputs, packaging/sterile considerations where relevant), and deliver clear reports.
• Support transfer to production (work instructions, QC checks/acceptance criteria, change control support).

It would be great if you:

• Have hands-on experience in designing plastic components for injection molding — this is a must-have requirement;
• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field;
• Have at least three years of experience in designing mechanical solutions;
• Are proficient in 3D CAD tools and 2D documentation;
• Are open, communicative, curious, and willing to seek solutions and improvements;
• Are fluent in spoken and written English.
