Job summary

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build a scalable research platform in Warsaw. You will partner with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, traders, and other engineers to accelerate signal discovery, backtesting, and production deployment.

You will design and operate high-throughput distributed systems handling petabytes of market and alternative data, leveraging AI-native workflows and modern ML infrastructure to speed decision making in global markets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Java, Scala, or C++.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and data-intensive applications.
• Excellent collaboration with both engineering and business stakeholders.
• Curiosity about markets, data and complex systems, with a drive to solve tough technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver high-impact research capabilities, platform, and scalable compute.
• Build high-throughput distributed systems processing petabytes of data with low latency.
• Develop AI-first research workflows using LLMs, agentic systems, and ML infra.
• Drive architecture, reliability, observability, and automated testing across the platform.
• Own platform capabilities end-to-end from concept to production operations.
