Job summary

Goldman Sachs seeks an experienced software engineer to build and operate the platform that turns research ideas into live trading strategies. You will work with researchers, portfolio managers, traders, and other engineers to deliver high-impact research capabilities, scalable compute, and AI-assisted workflows in real time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Java, Scala, or C++.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern infrastructure platforms.
• Experience building data intensive applications and machine learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build the platform for quantitative research, partnering with researchers, PMs, and traders.
• Engineer high-throughput distributed systems with low latency and high resiliency.
• Enable AI-first research using LLMs, agentic systems, and modern ML infra.
• Raise the engineering bar with architecture, observability, testing, and standards.
• Own platform capabilities end-to-end from concept to production operations.
