Job summary

EOS SAR in Poland seeks an experienced Quality Assurance / Product Assurance Manager to lead the quality function across aerospace projects, from prototype to flight hardware. You will define procedures, ensure ECSS/NASA compliance, and support customer audits.

You will drive non-conformance, configuration management, and supplier quality, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and external partners to maintain quality maturity and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in QA/Product Assurance in aerospace/high-tech hardware.
• Familiar with ECSS and NASA quality standards.
• Understanding space project lifecycle and flight hardware support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Quality Management System per ECSS/NASA.
• Support customer audits and external assessments.
• Act as independent quality function across projects.
• Lead NCR, CAPA, deviation and configuration management.
• Coordinate quality activities in design, manufacturing, testing, delivery.

Job description

• Proven experience in Quality Assurance / Product Assurance roles within aerospace, space, satellite, or high-tech hardware projects.
• Experience working with ECSS and/or NASA quality standards.
• Understanding of space project lifecycle, including A, B, C, D, E programme phases
• Experience supporting flight hardware development and customer-facing space projects.

Quality Management Systems

• Strong knowledge and practical experience implementing and maintaining:
• ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• AS9100 / EN9100 aerospace quality standards (preferred).
• Experience establishing quality processes from scratch in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to introduce and improve Quality Management System processes within a growing organization.

Manufacturing & Hardware Quality

• Experience with manufacturing quality control for complex hardware products.
• Understanding of:
• Manufacturing processes and process qualification.
• Material selection and control.
• Assembly and integration processes.
• Testing and verification activities.
• Experience supporting composite manufacturing processes is a plus:
• Lay-up.
• Autoclave curing.
• Bonding.

Core Responsibilities

Quality Management System & Processes

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System for EOS SAR.
• Ensure compliance with customer, ECSS/NASA, and internal quality requirements.
• Define quality procedures, workflows, and documentation standards.
• Support preparation for customer audits and external assessments.

Product Assurance & Project Quality Control

• Act as an independent quality function within the project.
• Ensure that project requirements are properly verified and fulfilled.
• Support quality activities throughout the product lifecycle:
• Design.
• Manufacturing.
• Testing.
• Delivery.
• Product Assurance Plans
• DML (Declared Materials List).
• DPL (Declared Parts List).
• DCL (Declared Components List).
• PADs and related quality documentation.
• VCD (Verification Control Documentation)

Non-Conformance & Configuration Management

• Establish and manage:
• NCR (Non-Conformance Report) processes.
• Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Deviation and waiver processes.
• Configuration management and change control.
• Manage supplier quality activities:
• Incoming inspections.
• Support outgoing inspections and acceptance activities.
• Breadboarding phase
• Qualification tests (EQM/PFM)
• Acceptance tests (FM)
• Ensure independent quality reviews before customer delivery.

Facility & Production Readiness

• Support preparation of manufacturing facilities and quality requirements:
• Cleanroom setup.
• Working procedures.
• Inspection processes.

Customer & External Representation

• Represent EOS SAR quality function during customer interactions.
• Support customer reviews, audits, and technical discussions related to quality.
• Demonstrate quality maturity to potential customers and partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and establish processes in an evolving environment.
• Strong communication skills with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
• Ability to balance quality requirements with engineering and project constraints.
• Experience working in international multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Background

• Experience with ESA / NASA / commercial satellite programs.
• Experience working with external customers and space agencies.
• Experience in hardware development projects from prototype to flight model.
• Experience in building QA processes in a startup or scale-up environment.

Expected Involvement by Project Phase

• Engineering Model phase: approximately 0.2–0.3 FTE support (process setup, documentation, quality framework).
• EM/EQM testing and Flight Model preparation: increasing involvement up to 0.5–1.0 FTE.
• Flight Model development and external customer projects: dedicated full-time Quality Assurance / Product Assurance Manager required.
