Job description

Job Family: Quality, Health, Safety and Environment

Become a part of Vestas as the Quality Assurance Lead in Nacelles Quality Assurance, focusing on quality assurance initiatives to maintain project quality throughout the process.

Nacelle Quality Assurance is part of Global Vestas manufacturing & Supply chain Quality team, responsible for safe launch of new products in manufacturing factories. The team closely collaborates with R&D and Manufacturing in planning and execution of quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Act as manufacturing quality lead in scoping, planning & co-ordinate execution of quality assurance activities & deliverables in the project
  • Continuously evaluate the quality risk related design, process, material, and tooling and secure corrective actions are in place
  • Perform root cause analysis for critical failures and drill through systemic cause to avoid recurrence of non-conformities
  • Share lessons learned and best practices between factories & projects across deploying closed loop quality framework
  • Shop floor/Gemba validation on the inbound, manufacturing & outbound process and verify the production basis documentation
  • Support the project with quality requirements, performance indicators with targets and report periodically; Manage deviations and escalate to Steering committee to ensure project quality is always on track
  • Support functional excellence with continuous improvement and global standardization initiatives in the quality function
Qualifications

You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering within Mechanical engineering, production engineering or similar subjects. Combined with your educational background, you have +10 years' experience in the field of wind turbine industry or similar heavy engineering.

Furthermore, we favor if you have experience in:

  • working with structures, assembly, machining & castings
  • working with hydraulics and drive train
  • design for manufacturing/assembly (Dfx) and standardization
  • APQP methodology (APQP4Wind Specialist)
  • statistical process control and performance analysis
  • application of FMEA, control plans, capability studies and MSA
  • systematic problem-solving methodologies like Six sigma methodology, 8D, Shainin tools, DOE, etc.
  • You will be motivated and self-driven - particularly focused to meet project deadlines
  • Dynamic and goal oriented
  • Advocating as the "voice of the customer" demanding the highest quality expectations from the organization
  • Good team focus: you will enjoy working with a range of people across various international locations, backgrounds, and cultures
  • You will thrive in an ever-changing work environment where no day is the same
  • Good communication skills in English with a range of stakeholders, ability to communicate in Polish is an advantage
