About the role
As an experienced QA Engineer, you will own quality in complex areas of our Web and Mobile products and contribute to how the team tests. You will raise risks early, evolve our automated suites, extend our automation framework, own how your suites run in CI, and help the team settle requirements and open questions before development starts.
This role is intended for experienced QA engineers who work with broad autonomy in their areas. You are expected to monitor and investigate production issues, support critical deliveries, contribute to shared QA standards, support less experienced QA engineers, and escalat[e] when decisions reach beyond your areas.
What you'll be doing:
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Own quality in complex areas across the full front-end scope, deciding per ticket what to test and how, with an automation-first approach: automation for repeatable checks, exploratory testing for new and high-risk changes, and manual testing where automated coverage is missing.
- Design and execute test plans and test strategies for complex features and releases with an automation-first approach, setting the mix of automated, exploratory and manual testing.
- Assess the releasability of complex features and multi-ticket releases in your areas, block features that need more work or have open blockers, and give the Product Owner a clear quality assessment and release recommendation with a documented rationale.
- Own the bug backlog of your areas: keep it structured and prioritised with product and developers, plan how fixes are verified and what is retested, and track issues to resolution.
- Prepare and drive bug hunting sessions for complex areas: clear scope, focus areas, split of work and follow-up of findings.
- Monitor production versions of our web products and mobile apps, investigate issues using logs, dashboards, alerts and crash reporting tools, and turn findings into new tests.
Test Automation
- Build, maintain, and evolve end-to-end and visual regression suites, increasing coverage and reliability, and contribute component tests together with developers where QA adds value.
- Extend the framework in your areas and help improve the shared test frameworks: new helpers, fixtures, patterns and capabilities.
- Improve suite structure, run time and stability, including flaky CI runs.
- Integrate your suites into GitHub Actions pipelines: set up jobs and pipeline stages with developers, keep feedback fast and reliable, and propose release-blocking checks.
- Use Claude and Claude Code daily, review and own what they produce, and contribute to shared ways of working with AI tools.
Collaboration with Development Teams
- Prepare complex features before development starts: gather requirements from product, design and developers, and resolve gaps, edge cases and open questions.
- Work with Web, Mobile and Backend teams to agree which scenarios are covered by developer tests and self-testing, by QA automated tests, and by QA exploratory or manual testing.
- Drive testability improvements in your areas together with developers.
- Support critical deliveries, rollouts of major features and platform migrations.
- Give product and engineering a clear view of quality, open risks and trade-offs in your areas, with a recommendation.
- Apply and improve QA processes in your areas, such as the Definition of Ready, the Definition of Done and bug hunting sessions, and implement agreed changes.
- Support less experienced QA engineers through code review, pairing and knowledge sharing, including demos and write-ups.
- Take part in evaluating new test tools and approaches.
Communication and Cooperation
- Explain complex issues and risks clearly, adapting the message to the audience (Polish or English).
- Use English consistently for documentation, technical discussions and cross-team collaboration.
- Promote open discussion of quality trade-offs in the team.
General
- Follow company QA processes and standards, and contribute to shared standards.
- Contribute QA effort and risks to sprint and team planning, raising them early.
- Escalate quality decisions that reach beyond your areas.
What you have:
- Solid experience in testing and test automation for web and/or mobile applications, including building and improving automated test suites.
- Solid test design and risk-based testing skills, including scoping the mix of automated, exploratory and manual testing for complex features and releases.
- Solid knowledge of front-end testing and of the typical failure points of web and mobile products.
- Advanced understanding of test automation beyond the tools, with proven ability to improve existing tests and suites (stability, speed, structure), extend a framework and drive testability with developers.
- Experience building and maintaining end-to-end and visual regression suites, including setting up and maintaining visual regression baselines.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions: setting up jobs and stages, and keeping feedback fast and reliable.
- Regular hands-on use of Claude and Claude Code in testing work, with the judgement to review their output.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience testing both web and mobile applications.
- Experience writing API tests for REST or GraphQL and running them in CI pipelines.
- Experience with component testing, for example Storybook with Vitest.
- Experience building performance or accessibility checks into regular testing.
- Experience supporting or mentoring other QA engineers.
Qualifications:
- No formal education required. Seniority is demonstrated through ownership, impact, and quality of outcomes.
