Job summary

Nord Security in Warszawa, Poland, invites a QA Engineer focusing on backend and API testing to join our team. You will design and execute test plans, automate where possible, and collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps to validate complex systems, APIs, and performance.

This role supports high-quality releases across web and back-end components. The ideal candidate has strong QA experience, proficiency with API tools, and a passion for quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quality assurance with a focus on backend and API testing.
• Proficiency with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia, or similar).
• Experience testing APIs (GraphQL preferred).
• Strong experience in test case design, creating feature test plans, and managing test execution.
• Experience in regression, functional, smoke, and ad-hoc testing.
• Experience with test automation.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Quick understanding of complex technical systems and dev teams.
• Desire for quality in all aspects of the product.
• Experience with Agile/Kanban methodologies and dev teams.
• Good verbal and written English communication.

Perform functional testing in web/desktop applications and back-end systems;

Core Requirements

Proven experience in quality assurance (with a stronger focus on backend and API testing);

Proficiency with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia, or similar);

Experience testing APIs (preferably GraphQL);

Strong experience in test case design, creating feature test plans, and managing test execution;

Experience in performing regression, functional, smoke, and ad-hoc testing;

Experience with test automation;

Familiarity with management tools (like Jira, Confluence, etc.);

Quick understanding of complex technical systems/structures;

A desire for quality in each and all aspects of the shippable product;

Experience with Agile/Kanban (or similar) methodologies and understanding how to work in dev teams;

Good verbal and written communication skills, written and spoken English;

Bonus Points:

An even greater advantage if you have experience with backend/API automation (e.g., NodeJS, Jest, Axios, Supertest);

Experience contributing to or maintaining existing test automation frameworks;

Experience with Virtualization and GitLab CI/CD tools;

Experience with Docker and containerized environments would be a big plus.
