Job summary

Verkada is hiring an experienced QA/Release engineer to improve device reliability and test automation for embedded hardware. You will develop automated tests, analyze fleet telemetry, and validate features across the full device lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with embedded, backend, hardware, and QA automation teams to expand coverage and ensure high-quality releases for devices deployed in the field. Kraków-based, with weekly on-site days.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software QA, release engineering, or testing embedded devices.
• Experience designing test strategies and developing automated test cases.
• Proficient in Python, CI/CD, Linux, networking, and databases.
• Understanding of hardware/software interactions; troubleshoot issues on physical devices.
• Experience automating manual QA processes and building regression tests.
• Ability to work in Polish on a daily basis (C1).
• Willingness to commute to the Kraków office every Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Develops tools to analyze fleet health, monitors devices after releases, creates alerts, and manages device configurations in the field.
• Works with large volumes of data (Querybook, Grafana, AWS Athena).
• Monitors telemetry data from devices in real time in the field.
• Analyzes automated HIL regression test results and runs automated tests on release builds; performs some manual checks.
• Develops proofs‑of‑concept to automate remaining manual tests and new features, then implements automated tests into the regression suite.
• Expands regression test coverage based on fleet health analysis and customer-reported bugs.
