Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a QA automation engineer to join an AQA team working on end-to-end testing for a mixed IoT/Smart Home ecosystem. You will create and maintain automated tests for iOS and Android, analyze results, and communicate directly with a Canada-based client.

The role emphasizes remote work on remote machines and the ongoing development of test infrastructure, with a focus on strong Java, OOP/SOLID, and Appium expertise.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Java, OOP, and SOLID principles.
• Ability to apply principles of object-oriented and functional programming.
• Solid understanding of mobile testing, including iOS and Android specifics, as well as Appium.

Responsibilities

• Work within an AQA engineering team using a black-box testing approach (no access to application source code).
• Write, review, and adjust automated tests for iOS and Android platforms.
• Execute test runs and comprehensively analyze the results.
• Communicate directly with the client team based in Canada.
• Work on remote machines and environments.
• Develop and improve new and existing test infrastructure.

The client is a Canadian telecommunications provider. The product is designed to create an End-to-End automation flow based on the modern IoT technologies stack for real-life use cases validation of the IoT and Smart Home ecosystem. The new product is intended to have the ability to test hundreds of IoT devices as part of a complex ecosystem, which is impossible to do manually.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Java, OOP, and SOLID principles.
• Ability to apply principles of object-oriented and functional programming.
• Solid understanding of mobile testing, including iOS and Android specifics, as well as Appium.
• Strong ability to write and optimize XPath locators.
• Good understanding of QA documentation (requirements, test cases, bug reports).
• Understanding of manual testing processes and readiness to perform manual QA tasks when necessary.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Intermediate or higher English level (sufficient for direct client communication).
• Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong team player.
