Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to secure timely, cost-effective materials for production and customer demand. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to maintain material availability, optimize inventories, and drive procurement performance.

This role focuses on supplier relationships, PO management, data accuracy in ERP, and continuous improvement across the purchasing function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain, including cooperation with international suppliers.
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze material requirements to ensure uninterrupted supply for manufacturing.
  • Manage purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to adjust deliveries as needed.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely deliveries and issue resolution.
  • Maintain material master data and purchasing parameters within ERP systems.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to support supply continuity and flexibility.
  • Prepare reports and analyses related to purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.
  • Take ownership of inventory value and optimize stock levels while maintaining service.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing and supply chain functions.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Warehouse, and Production teams for alignment.

In this role, you will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to maintain material availability, optimize inventory levels, and support supply chain performance. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Analyze material requirements based on production schedules, customer orders, and demand forecasts to ensure uninterrupted supply for manufacturing operations.
  • Manage purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to expedite, postpone, or adjust deliveries according to changing business needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and order fulfillment to ensure timely deliveries and effective issue resolution.
  • Maintain and manage material master data and purchasing parameters within ERP systems to ensure data accuracy and planning effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to support supply continuity, operational flexibility, and business objectives.
  • Prepare reports and perform analyses related to purchasing activities, inventory levels, supplier performance, and material availability.
  • Take ownership of inventory value within the assigned material portfolio, identifying opportunities to optimize stock levels while maintaining service performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, eliminating waste, and supporting process optimization projects within the purchasing and supply chain functions.
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Quality, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure alignment between supply availability and operational requirements

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Experience supporting cross-functional collaboration across Purchasing, Planning, Production, and Quality functions.
