Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Development Engineer to support product development, industrialization, and manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient production processes, product quality, and successful implementation of new products and engineering changes.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to optimize processes, solve technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement across the organization in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar engineering role within an international manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical and manufacturing documentation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform under pressure.
  • Practical project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and improve manufacturing processes using Lean principles.
  • Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and CAPA implementations.
  • Promote standardized manufacturing methods and enhance process awareness.
  • Lead new product introductions, engineering changes, and production launches.
  • Coordinate production areas to ensure process stability and tool availability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, work instructions, and specs.
  • Participate in product transfer, industrialization, and readiness projects.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functions.
  • Collaborate with Quality to define requirements and drive improvements.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and drive corrective actions.
  • Monitor KPIs and ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance product performance and efficiency.

Job description

As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting product development, industrialization, and manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient production processes, product quality, and successful implementation of new products and engineering changes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to optimize processes, solve technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement across the organization

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Optimize and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and operational performance using Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Support production teams by providing technical expertise, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Develop employee knowledge and process awareness by promoting best practices and supporting the implementation of standardized manufacturing methods.

  • Lead and support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production launches while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are achieved.

  • Coordinate and monitor assigned production areas to ensure process stability, workplace organization, and availability of required tools, fixtures, and documentation.

  • Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, product files, engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.

  • Participate in product transfer, industrialization, and manufacturing readiness projects.

  • Provide technical support regarding product design and construction to Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other business functions.

  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to define quality requirements, support inspections, and drive quality improvement initiatives.

  • Support customer complaint investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs/BSC), ensuring accurate documentation and data-driven decision-making.

  • Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement activities to enhance product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and operational excellence.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar engineering role within an international manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical and manufacturing documentation.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.

  • Practical project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Experience with product industrialization and manufacturing transfer projects.

  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes.

  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and product optimization.

  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and engineering documentation management.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing environments.
