Job summary

GE-Vernova- is seeking a Project Supplier Performance & Quality Lead to improve supplier quality for HVDC projects. You will define KPIs, plan audits, and manage third-party activities on site and in factories.

Responsibilities include recording findings, monitoring performance against standards, and driving corrective actions. You will collaborate with procurement, logistics, and engineering while participating in gate reviews and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Project Management, Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Management, planning and audits; Auditor certification is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage non-conformities, corrective actions, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Define KPIs to measure supplier quality performance.
  • Plan and schedule supplier audits and inspections.
  • Coordinate third-party activities on-site and in factories.
  • Record findings and non-conformities and monitor corrective actions.
  • Manage budget and cost control for supplier quality activities.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics and engineering on quality plans.
  • Lead RCA (PSR/8D) and participate in gate reviews.
  • Provide training to suppliers on quality requirements.

Job Description Summary

The Project Supplier Performance & Quality Lead is responsible for improving the quality of internal and external suppliers for HVDC projects. This role involves defining KPIs, planning supplier audits and inspections, handling third parties for activities on site and in factories, recording and managing findings and non-conformities, and monitoring supplier performance against quality standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Quality Improvement:
  • Improve the quality of internal and external suppliers for HVDC projects.
  • KPI Definition:
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier quality performance.
  • Audit and Inspection Planning:
  • Plan and schedule supplier audits, inspections, and surveillance activities.
  • Third-Party Management:
  • Handle third parties for activities on site and in factories, including:
    • Selection of third-party service providers with technical expertise needed.
    • Definition of Request for Quotation (RfQ) packages.
    • Creation of Purchase Requisitions.
    • Budget Management and Cost Control.
    • Reporting on third-party performance and compliance.
  • Findings and Non-Conformities:
  • Record and manage findings and non-conformities from audits and inspections.
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor supplier performance against established quality standards.
  • Corrective and Preventive Actions:
  • Lead RCA (PSR/ 8D)
  • Documentation:
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and engineering departments on quality and procurement plans.
  • Gate Reviews:
  • Actively participate in applicable procurement Gate reviews.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conduct risk assessments for suppliers and develop mitigation plans.
  • Provide training and guidance to suppliers on quality requirements and standards.
  • Keep abreast of industry’s best practices and incorporate them into the quality management process.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier quality management framework
Required Qualifications and desired Characteristics
  • Educational Background: Degree in Project Management, Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Language Skills: Ability to communicate (speak and write) in English; German language is a plus.
  • Quality Management Experience:
  • Proven experience in Supplier Quality Management, including planning and performing audits. Certified Auditor is preferred.
  • Experience in managing non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.
  • In-depth understanding of quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and equipment procurement requirements.
  • Project Management Skills:
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in budget management and cost control related to supplier quality activities.
  • Documentation and Organizational Skills:
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in maintaining and managing quality documentation.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and third-party service providers.
  • Ability to provide training and guidance on quality requirements.
