The department Operational Excellence, Digitalization, Lean & Green is responsible for strategic alignment, transformation, efficiency management, and project coordination. Together, we drive digitalization, innovation, sustainability, and Lean Management initiatives across the global production network for all organizational units.

Our team consists of six highly motivated colleagues who are looking forward to your support. We are responsible for optimizing operational efficiencies and managing transformation and efficiency programs within VAN/O. We serve as the central competence center for Lean & MPS methods and lay the foundation for best practice sharing and exchange in Centers of Competence. Our goal is to support and empower the plants and cross-functional areas in achieving their targets. Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-plant production optimization projects based on Lean Management principles and ensure long-term project success on-site.
• Coordinate MPS activities at all VAN/O locations in collaboration with plant management and local MPS offices.
• Act as key account for cross-plant Centers of Competence (CoC) in body shop, paint shop, assembly, intra- logistics, and maintenance, actively promoting best practice exchange.
• Advise and support production management regarding Lean Management, MPSadv, SFMdigital, and standard KPIs at VAN sites.
• Ensure close collaboration with local MPS offices.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and interfaces in VAN Operations, Mercedes-Benz Cars, and Powertrain, and actively contribute to MPS Cooperation to foster synergies and innovation.
• Implement a cross-hierarchical improvement culture and actively drive the change process.
• Prepare and conduct strategic and/or operational (hybrid) workshops across all hierarchy levels to effectively advance projects and initiatives.
• Create decision templates and project progress reports for steering committees and top management, including professional and audience-appropriate presentation of content.
• Drive the introduction and implementation of standardized methods, KPIs, and processes within VAN/O.

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:

• Degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable field with solid knowledge of production systems and processes.
• Several years of professional experience in production and/or Lean Management, as well as in executing optimization projects, ideally in a production environment.
• Certification as Lean Consultant L(M)C / MPS Expert or willingness to obtain it.
• In-depth methodological knowledge in project management and Lean Management.
• Profound knowledge of Lean Management; comprehensive understanding of the Mercedes-Benz Production System (MPS) are a plus
• Fluent in German and English; Spanish skills are a plus.
