Job summary

Katcon is seeking an experienced engineer in Poland to lead the end-to-end development of aftertreatment products. You will coordinate engineering activities, ensure milestones, and deliver robust technical documentation.

You will collaborate with customers and suppliers and drive innovation through data analytics and digital tools. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes, and 3+ years in R&D, ideally in automotive or steel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design principles (including GD&T).
• Experience with fluid dynamics, fatigue, durability, vibration, and validation analyses.
• Proficiency in data analysis and digital engineering tools including AI, automation, and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of aftertreatment products from concept to production launch.
• Manage engineering activities to meet technical, timing, cost, and quality goals.
• Maintain product documentation (BOMs, 3D models, drawings, PLM records).
• Coordinate cross-functional development, oversee gate reviews, track progress with dashboards and KPIs.
• Use CAE, CAD, digital tools, and data analytics to support engineering decisions.
• Manage technical interfaces with customers and suppliers, including feasibility, prototyping, and issue resolution.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement through new technologies and development programs.

Job description

Duties

• Lead the end-to-end development of aftertreatment products, from concept generation, design, simulation, validation, and industrialization through production launch.
• Manage engineering activities for assigned projects, ensuring achievement of technical, timing, cost, quality, and implementation objectives.
• Develop and maintain product technical documentation, including BOMs, 3D models, 2D drawings, PLM records, and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional development activities, organize gate reviews, monitor project progress, and provide data-driven status reporting through dashboards and KPIs.
• Generate, analyze, and leverage technical data to support engineering decisions using CAE, CAD, digital tools, AI agents, and data analytics platforms.
• Manage technical interfaces with customers and suppliers, including feasibility assessments, prototype development, technical reviews, and issue resolution.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement, identifying new technologies, initiating advanced development activities, and actively contributing to idea-generation and innovation programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in R&D, preferably in the automotive industry or steel component manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design principles, including technical drawings, GD&T, materials, manufacturing technologies, and production processes.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools related to fluid dynamics, fatigue, durability, vibration, and performance validation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and digital engineering tools, including the application of AI, automation, APIs, and digital technologies in product development.
• Good understanding of automotive development and quality standards, including IATF 16949, VDA, and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Robust Engineering).
• Very good command of English (minimum B2 level), both written and spoken.
• Data-driven, analytical, and results-oriented mindset, with strong teamwork, flexibility, and problem- solving skills.
