EY GDS Poland in Katowice is seeking a Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Senior Consultant. Location: Katowice – 2 days in office / 3 days remote. You will lead procurement strategy engagements, design operating models, and drive sourcing optimization for diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain advisory.
• Knowledge of procurement methodologies and vendor evaluation.
• Sourcing, benchmarking and analytics experience.
• Strategic approach with negotiation skills.
• Understanding of legal and contractual requirements.
• End-to-end procurement process expertise (S2C, P2P, data integration, etc).

The opportunity

By joining our team, you will assist clients in enhancing their supply chain efficiency. Utilizing EY GDS-SC&O's proprietary frameworks, you will help clients to improve the reliability, flexibility, and responsiveness of their supply chain while reducing the total cost. Your responsibilities will involve creating an operating model, re‑engineering procurement processes, optimizing working capital, performing rapid assessments, building assets/tools, and coming up with thought leadership.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consulting engagements across procurement strategy, operating model design, category management, sourcing optimization, and procurement transformation.
• Collaborate with the extended teams and clients to design and implement effective supply chain transformation projects for diverse industries.
• Perform advanced spend analytics to identify value creation opportunities. Translate procurement and operational data into strategic recommendations to enhance competitiveness, reduce costs, and optimize the supply chain.
• Assess the maturity level of procurement processes and initiate improvements to the current processes and systems/technologies.
• Conduct procurement benchmarking across operating models, organization structures, processes, sourcing outcomes, and supplier rates and develop fact‑based recommendations.
• Assess procurement operating models and design future‑state target governance frameworks, organizational structures, capability requirements, and sourcing delivery models.
• Support strategic category management through fact‑based market intelligence. Analyze supplier markets, industry trends, inflationary pressures, and cost drivers.
• Review and validate data and further build optimization models, analytical reports, dashboards and presentations.
• Support digital procurement and AI‑enabled transformation initiatives. Evaluate and implement procurement technologies and automation opportunities.
• Acquire knowledge of new age procurement tools; such as Ariba, COUPA, Ivalua, SAP MM, PP etc. and work on process design/ reengineering/ implementation projects related to the process and/or tool.

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Experience in strategic procurement, category management (direct and/or indirect spend), procurement excellence, procurement systems
• Effective communication skills and experience in customer‑facing role
• Ability to work independently and proactively

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, procurement transformation, category management, or supply chain advisory.
• Knowledge of Procurement Methodologies: Procurement Matrix, Vendor selection and evaluation methods
• Sourcing, offer analysis and benchmarking
• Strategic approach and negotiation skills
• Understanding of legal and contractual requirements
• Expertise in end‑to‑end procurement process covering one or more of the following areas: spend analytics, E2E process redesign, Source to Contract, Procure to Pay, data integration, etc.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset, design thinking and passion for improvement and optimization

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience in Data Visualization using Tableau /Power BI / QlikView etc.
• System Knowledge like Ariba, Coupa, SAP modules etc.
• Knowledge of other languages (German, French) will be an additional asset
