The role designs the data model, analytics products, and intelligence services that allow Procurement to measure, monitor, and act on sustainability and supplier risk performance. Working as an enterprise capability owner rather than a functional analyst, the role serves Procurement Risk & Sustainability, Category Management, Enterprise Supplier Partnership, Procurement Excellence, and Procurement leadership with reliable data, decision-ready insight, and scalable analytics products.

OBJECTIVES: (Briefly summarise the overall purpose of the position. Objectives should be written in 3 – 4 bulleted statements.)

  • Own the ESG and supplier risk intelligence capability roadmap, analytics product portfolio, standards, and service model within Insights & Intelligence.
  • Define the ESG and risk data model, taxonomies, metric definitions, calculation logic, and quality expectations used across Procurement.
  • Design analytics and reporting products that support sustainability, supplier risk, supplier performance, category, and procurement performance questions.
  • Provide reporting infrastructure and data services that support CSRD, CSDDD, and other disclosure requirements owned by the relevant service owners.
  • Lead advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and AI-enabled use cases for supplier risk signals, emissions trajectories, and supplier segmentation.
  • Deliver benchmarking, market, and regulatory intelligence that positions Takeda against peers and emerging requirements.
  • Set direction, deliverables, and quality standards for the ESG & Risk Intelligence Manager (Senior Manager) and assure consistency of delivery.
  • Partner with Digital Enablement and enterprise data teams to embed ESG and risk data in the procurement data architecture and digital product roadmap.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job. Include only the essential functions of the job. Approximately 5 – 10 bulleted task statements should be identified.)
Capability Strategy & Service Design
  • Define the multi-year intelligence roadmap covering data foundations, reporting, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled services.
  • Maintain a prioritized demand and product backlog with clear business value, ownership, and delivery sequencing.
  • Establish service levels, intake routes, and escalation paths for analytics requests across Procurement.
Data Architecture, Standards & Quality
  • Define ESG and risk data requirements, master data expectations, taxonomies, metric definitions, and calculation rules.
  • Govern integration of internal and external data sources, including supplier assessment, emissions, risk monitoring, and spend data.
  • Establish data quality controls, reconciliation routines, lineage, and documentation suitable for audit and assurance.
Reporting & Disclosure Enablement
  • Design executive and service-line reporting products, including leadership dashboards and performance packs.
  • Provide the reporting infrastructure, datasets, and controls that support regulatory disclosure, rating agency responses, and investor queries.
  • Ensure reported figures are traceable, consistent across audiences, and aligned with definitions agreed with the accountable service owners.
Advanced Analytics & AI
  • Design and sponsor predictive and scenario-based use cases such as supplier risk early warning, emissions trajectory modelling, and resilience stress testing.
  • Evaluate AI and machine-learning approaches for signal detection, unstructured data extraction, and intelligence summarization.
  • Define model assumptions, validation approaches, limitations, and responsible-use expectations before scaling.
Intelligence & Benchmarking
  • Deliver peer benchmarking, market intelligence, and regulatory watch insight relevant to sustainability and supplier risk.
  • Translate complex analysis into concise recommendations for senior decision makers.
  • Identify emerging data and intelligence needs arising from regulation, business strategy, or supplier-market change.
