Job summary

Grand Parade, part of William Hill, Kraków, is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to provide technical leadership across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will design secure, scalable platforms and drive CI/CD and observability improvements, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cybersecurity and operations teams.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, VMware, and Infrastructure as Code, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-scale cloud and infrastructure platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized production environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation.
• Broad IT infrastructure understanding, including networking, storage, compute, virtualization and security fundamentals.
• Admin/troubleshooting across Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with VMware and hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
• Ability to operate highly available production systems in regulated environments.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively in engineering workflows.
• Strong technical documentation skills and ability to communicate architectural decisions.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable, resilient cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for AWS, Kubernetes, VMware, OS, networking, storage, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Design and implement infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles and tools.
• Resolve complex issues across cloud platforms, infrastructure, applications, and production environments.
• Produce architecture documents, implementation plans, and operational documentation.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Engineer to provide technical leadership across our cloud and infrastructure environments. This is a senior, hands‑on engineering role responsible for designing resilient platforms, solving complex technical challenges, and helping shape the organization’s cloud engineering strategy. You will work across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments, partnering closely with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, operations, and governance teams. The role requires broad infrastructure expertise, strong production experience, and the ability to turn complex business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable technical solutions.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud and infrastructure solutions.

• Proven experience operating highly available, business‑critical production systems.
• Experience working in large, complex, and highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex, cross‑platform technical issues.
• Experience designing solutions for reliability, scalability, security, performance, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to use modern AI tools effectively and responsibly as part of engineering workflows.
• Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly.
• Professional proficiency in English.
