WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

Based in the Dublin office, you will join an experienced preconstruction team working on large-scale, technically complex projects at the tender and early-stage delivery phases. These are high-value schemes where procurement decisions have a direct and lasting impact on cost certainty, programme and overall project success.

Working closely with estimating, commercial, design and operations leadership, you will help shape the procurement strategy for each project and take ownership of placing major subcontract packages. The culture is collaborative and commercially focused, with a strong emphasis on early engagement, supply chain partnership and joined-up decision-making.

The role combines office-based preconstruction work with regular travel to live and upcoming European sites, keeping you connected to delivery teams and local supply chains. It offers an excellent platform to influence projects from the outset while gaining broad international exposure within an ambitious, growing contractor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the preconstruction process on major European projects, from early engagement and tender through to handover to the delivery team
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for each project, aligned with programme, risk and commercial objectives
• Manage the tendering, evaluation, negotiation and placement of major subcontract packages
• Identify, engage and develop supply chain partners across Ireland and European markets
• Work with estimating and commercial teams to develop robust cost plans, tender submissions and value engineering proposals
• Coordinate design development, buildability reviews and early contractor involvement with clients and consultants
• Identify and manage preconstruction risk, ensuring clear scopes, interfaces and contractual positions are established
• Ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to delivery, supporting site teams through mobilisation
• Contribute to the continued development of preconstruction processes, standards and supply chain strategy

WHAT YOU NEED

• Proven experience as a Preconstruction Manager, Procurement Manager or senior preconstruction professional within a main contractor environment
• A strong track record of developing procurement strategies and placing major subcontract packages on large, complex projects
• Experience on complex or technically demanding projects is highly beneficial, with international or European project exposure an advantage but not essential
