• Basic programming skills in Python and experience in Unix/Linux HPC environments.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

The Schacherl lab applies cutting-edge methods to study ribosome dynamics in the native cellular context and outside the cell. The project seeks to develop a mechanistic, spatially resolved model of protein synthesis in human brain cells and define how it is remodeled during neurodegenerative disease, integrating structural biology, mainly cryo-EM, advanced light microscopy, molecular biology and computational approaches.

• PhD in structural biology or a related discipline, such as biophysics or biochemistry.
• Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Advanced knowledge of cryo-EM techniques, specifically single-particle analysis, and molecular modelling; ideally, also solid knowledge of cryo-ET
• Basic programming skills in Python and experience in Unix-Linux environments, including HPC
• Fluency in English (spoken and written language)
