Job summary

Obserwatorium Astronomiczne UW in Warsaw seeks a postdoctoral researcher for a NCN project entitled “Science with Gravitational Waves in the Era of LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA Discoveries”. The appointment is full-time, from November 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027, with possible extension for three months.

Applicants must have a PhD in Astronomy or Astrophysics and strong English language skills. Eligibility includes publication record in peer-reviewed journals and experience in GW data analysis and

Qualifications

• PhD in Astronomy or Astrophysics required.
• Peer-reviewed publications in international journals.
• Experience in gravitational-wave source modeling.
• Experience in analysis of data from gravitational-wave detectors.
• Experience working in collaborative research teams.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Submission of a research plan outlining future scientific activities.
• Must meet NCN formal eligibility criteria as outlined in the vacancy.
