The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the portfolio of strategic initiatives within the Global Payments sector. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful planning, governance, and delivery of key projects, while optimizing capacity and resources to meet business objectives.
Portfolio Oversight: Manage and prioritize the portfolio of initiatives, ensuring alignment with Global Payments’ strategic objectives and business priorities.
Capacity Management: Collaborate with the team to assess resource availability, ensuring that the right resources are allocated to the right initiatives at the right time. Responsible for gathering the level of effort estimate for capacity management.
Governance & Process: Oversee governance processes to ensure consistent project delivery and adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between stakeholders, business units, and project teams across the globe to provide updates, manage expectations, and address any concerns.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks and issues within the portfolio, developing mitigation strategies and solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
Reporting & Analytics: Partnering with PMO and Business Units to create and maintain regular reports on portfolio status, resource utilization, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform leadership and other stakeholders.
Ensure strategic alignment with OKRs: Assess portfolio benefits realization to ensure strategic goals are achieved
Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to improve processes and best practices within the Portfolio & Capacity Management function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Act as change agent to promote adherence and maturity of Portfolio Management Practices and Governance
Special Assignments: Perform duties as tasked which may be time sensitive and confidential in nature.
Proven experience (6+ years) in portfolio management or project management, preferably in the financial services, payments, or technology sectors.
C1 English: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of portfolio and capacity management principles, including resource allocation and prioritization.
Understanding, assist in defining and evaluating business cases, ROIs
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Planview, Microsoft Project, JIRA).
Familiarity with governance frameworks and standards in project delivery (Agile).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex situations and make data-driven decisions.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
High volume payment transaction processing environments and products
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Familiarity with cloud implementation and digital transformation projects.
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
Exposure, understanding and or experience with the Product ways of Working (PWOW)
Minimum of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred (in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) or equivalent experience
Agile methodology certification like SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM 6.0) Certification is a plus
