Why this role matters:

On the Platform Engineering Team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing internal tool sets used by our Engineering teams in their dailyacia routines. The goal of theseિકેટse is to reduce toil and streamline the process of modernizing internal applications. The primary focus is on implementing and managing Cloud Native Kubernetes-based platform ecosystems to deliver the platform of choice hosting production API’s. You’ll be involved in every aspect of engineering from software development strategies, dev workflows, HA and scalability aligned with modern GitOps practices ensuring that the SLA/SLO and cost objectives of the services are maintained, and improved upon.

Your key responsibilities:

In this position you’ll actively seek out ways to contribute and bring new ideas. You will have the opportunity to extensively utilize open source projects/software, often focusing on developing the 'glue' that integrates systems and enhancing their feature sets. Bringing a sense of vision and contributing to the requirements is expected and encouraged.

What you’ll bring

Required:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a combination of development, design in areas of cloud computing
  • Coding skills in modern language, ideally Python or Go and SDLC management.
  • Automate Kubernetes infrastructure deployment and management using tools such as Terraform, Crossplane to develop self-service platform workflows
  • Strong Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) experience on public Cloud (AWS and/or GCP), integrating Terraform/Crossplane to extend IaC capabilities across multiple cloud providers.
  • Fluency with Cloud API SDK’s (AWS/GCP) and identify opportunities to deliver self service capabilities for the most common infrastructure and application management tasks
  • Experience with Unix/Linux OS internals (filesystems, system calls) and networking
  • Experience in working on a large scale, highly available, cloud native infrastructure platform on a public cloud, preferably in a consumer business
  • Experience with any K8s managed service (EKS/GKE) with connected automation and orchestration tool development experience such as Argo, Helm, Terraform, Ansible жі CNCF tooling ecosystem.
  • On-call support won't be necessary at first, but may be eventually
  • Expertise in building platform tooling in Kubernetes, developing architecture patterns and templates for application runtimes, K8s cluster topology, traffic shaping, API, CI/CD, and observability stacks on AWS or GCP cloud.
  • Experience coding in other programming languages, especially in Python
  • Platform security experience, including patching and hardening
  • Familiarity with the CNCF tooling across the ecosystem
  • Exposure to any observability platforms using open-source tools like VictoriaMetrics, Thanos, Cortex, Prometheus, Datalog and Grafana
