Schibsted & Vend Polska is building an Internal Developer Platform and seeking a Mid Platform Engineer to shape how the platform operates and how developers interact with it. You’ll automate, improve, and turn infrastructure into reusable, self-service capabilities that help product teams focus on building great software.
You’ll work across Kubernetes, AWS, security, reliability and FinOps, collaborating with architects and developers.
At Schibsted & Vend Polska we create technology that empowers trusted media and successful marketplaces. As a joint venture between Schibsted and Vend, we develop intelligent, user-focused digital platforms — from news websites and classifieds apps to personalization and AI tools. With 12+ years of experience and teams in Kraków and Gdańsk, we co-create products used daily by millions.
We believe great work happens when people feel trusted and empowered. You’re seen, heard, and valued — not just for what you do, but for who you are. We work in a space of openness, respect, and real recognition, where flexibility is the norm and growth is truly personal.
Schibsted & Vend Polska is a joint venture between two leading Nordic entities - a major media house, Schibsted, and a dynamic marketplace leader, Vend. With over 300 software engineers in Kraków and Gdańsk, we provide high-quality technological solutions that support the operations and innovations of both parent companies.
We’re building and evolving an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that provides a secure, scalable and reliable foundation for Schibsted.
The goal is straightforward, even if the engineering behind it isn’t: enable application workloads to run consistently across environments while reducing the operational overhead for product teams.
The platform covers Kubernetes, AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, automation, reliability, security, developer experience and FinOps. A big part of our work is turning that infrastructure complexity into capabilities that are simple and practical for developers to use.
As a Mid Platform Engineer, you’ll work across different layers of the platform and help shape both how it operates and how developers interact with it.
You won’t just maintain infrastructure. You’ll automate it, improve it and help turn it into reusable, self-service capabilities that allow product teams to spend less time thinking about the underlying platform and more time building great products.
You’ll work closely with architects, developers and other stakeholders across Schibsted, sharing knowledge and making technical decisions together as the platform evolves.
You enjoy solving complex infrastructure problems, but you also care about making that complexity easier for the people using the platform.

It’s Great If You Also Have
You don’t need to tick every box. We’re interested in what you already know, how you approach unfamiliar problems and your ability to learn and grow.
Platform engineering is rarely about solving isolated technical problems. It requires understanding how infrastructure decisions affect developers, products and the wider organisation.
We value people who are curious enough to question existing solutions, comfortable sharing their perspective and pragmatic enough to know when simplicity beats unnecessary complexity.
You’ll have room to take ownership, experiment and learn. We expect people to make thoughtful decisions, ask for input when it adds value and turn feedback, data and incidents into improvements.
Knowledge sharing and collaboration are part of the job — not an afterthought.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a platform used by product and engineering teams across Schibsted and influence how modern software is built and operated at scale.
The technical landscape gives you plenty of room to grow across Kubernetes, AWS, networking, reliability, security, developer experience, automation and FinOps. At the same time, you’ll work with colleagues who value autonomy, knowledge sharing, constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
We work in a hybrid model in Kraków, combining face-to-face collaboration in our office with the flexibility of remote work.
