Job summary

Appsilon is looking for a Platform Architect to design modern cloud systems, lead projects, and guide global teams.

You will build cloud platforms on AWS and Azure, automate with Terraform and Ansible, and advise clients on scalable solutions across time zones.

This remote role across Europe/US involves mentoring engineers, supporting pre-sales activities, and shaping robust, secure platform strategies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building cloud platforms or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, Terraform, Ansible.
• Linux, networks (DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, firewalls) experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Pre-sales and client-facing consulting experience.
• English at C1 and ability to work across time zones.

Why do we need you?

As a Platform Architect, you will create modern cloud systems, work with tools like AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and lead projects that really matter. You’ll support internal teams and clients from around the world.

Your responsibilities:

• Build cloud platforms in AWS and Azure
• Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD to automate work
• Give tech advice to clients and design cloud solutions
• Lead small teams and help junior engineers grow
• Work with the sales team to plan technical solutions
• Use Agile/Scrum methods for daily teamwork
• Taking an active part in pre-sales activities: understanding client needs, proposing solutions, and supporting our teams to win deals.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 4+ years working with cloud systems or infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Linux experience and knowledge of networks (DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, firewalls)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong project management and multitasking skills
• Remote work experience and good time management
• Programming knowledge (at least one language)
• Experience in consulting or working with clients
• Previous experience in pre-sales engineering (scoping, proposals) / Curiosity and business awareness to join pre-sales activities
• English at C1 level (near-native)
• Comfortable working across time zones (Europe and the US)

Nice to have:

• AWS or Azure certificates
• Experience with developer platforms
• Knowledge of R, Spark, or tools for data pipelines
• Project management certificate
• Experience with data engineering
