BorgWarner is seeking a Plant Product Engineer - Mechanical to support global manufacturing plants in resolving complex mechanical and thermomechanical production issues. This role serves as the primary technical interface between manufacturing operations and Product Engineering for mechanical-related production concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing support, product development, or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving.
• Experience defining or supporting DoE.
• Ability to translate findings into practical design and manufacturing improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration within global teams.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple investigations.

Responsabilités

• Perform first-level engineering analysis of production issues after initial investigations.
• Serve as primary engineering interface between manufacturing plants and Product Engineering.
• Analyze mechanical integrity, assembly variation, and thermal/mechanical interfaces.
• Define containment actions and escalation paths for issues.
• Coordinate and support Design of Experiments (DoE) to isolate contributors.
• Evaluate tolerances, interfaces, and fixture interactions.
• Support root cause analyses using structured problem-solving and data-driven methods.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to global teams.
• Drive lessons learned into design rules, assembly guidelines, DFMEAs, and standards.
• Support continuous improvement for robustness and efficiency.
