Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Plant Product Engineer - Electrical to support global manufacturing with complex electrical hardware issues, power electronics and component interactions. You will act as the main interface between manufacturing operations and Product Engineering for electrical concerns, performing first-level analyses and driving robust corrective actions.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, design engineering, validation, suppliers, and reliability teams to ensure rapid issue

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in electrical engineering, power electronics, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, circuit behavior, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with production testing, characterization, validation, or failure analysis.
• Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DOE).
• Ability to analyze data and drive actionable manufacturing improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in global teams.
• Ability to manage multiple investigations independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-level engineering analysis of production issues following investigations.
• Serve as the primary interface between manufacturing plants and Product Engineering.
• Analyze electrical behavior under varying operating conditions.
• Support containment activities and escalate process/design/supplier issues.
• Coordinate DoE activities to identify electrical contributors to failures.
• Evaluate component variation, tolerances, margins, and derating.
• Collaborate with design, simulation, EMC, validation, and reliability teams.
• Assess supplier changes and PCNs for impact on robustness.
• Support root cause analyses using structured methodologies.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to global teams.
• Incorporate lessons learned into design guidelines and standards.
• Drive continuous improvement for product quality and reliability.
