Lendable is seeking a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our US Loans team. You’ll work on a new product built on our lending platform, collaborating with senior engineers to shape the architecture and deliver APIs and services that impact customer experience.

You will own features end-to-end, write tests, and contribute to a modern tech stack including PHP 8, Symfony, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. This is a fully remote opportunity with some UK/EU flexibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in PHP back-end development.
• Proficient with PHP 8.0+ and modern frameworks (Symfony or Laravel).
• Strong ownership and autonomy in delivery.
• Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD).
• Solid automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional, Behat).
• Able to collaborate in a highly cross-functional team.

About the role

We’re looking for a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our US Loans team!

Our engineering organisation is home to over 200 talented engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines.

You’ll be working on a new product we’re building within our existing US Loans team. It’s built on our established lending platform and codebase, so you’ll help shape something new while working alongside experienced engineers who know the domain and the systems well.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on everything from building and integrating new APIs to enhance the customer journey, to optimising our lending platforms, and engaging in deep architectural discussions. There’s plenty to tackle, and we’re excited to find the right people to take on the challenge.

What we’re looking for

Essential

• 3+ years of experience

• A strong, business-oriented engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must)

• High degree of ownership and autonomy

• A good understanding of a modern PHP framework like Symfony or Laravel

• Strong automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional, Behat)

• A keen desire to learn and contribute to a highly collaborative team

• Experience with Domain Driven Design

Desirable

• Experience working on financial systems

• Experience with Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing
