Job summary

AmRest Holdings SE in Gdańsk is seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join a cross-functional SAFe team responsible for backend services and API design for our call center support systems. The role focuses on building scalable PHP backends, ensuring high performance and reliable integration with other components.

You will work with Product Owner, frontend engineers, testers, and the Tech Lead to translate business needs into robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with PHP 7.x/8.x.
• Proficiency in a major PHP framework (Symfony, Laravel, or Slim).
• Hands-on experience with REST API design and development.
• Experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit.
• Familiarity with the Linux command line (basic level).
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• English proficiency at a B1+ level (communicative).
• Ready to work from the office twice a week (Gdańsk Oliwa).
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD Pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in PHP for call center functionalities.
• Build scalable, distributed systems with high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Product Owner, frontend developers, testers, and Tech Lead to deliver backlog items.
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust backend solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing features, fix bugs, and optimize performance.
• Contribute to code quality through reviews, refactoring, and best practices.
