Job summary

Veeam is seeking a Performance QA Engineer in Warsaw to work with QA professionals in the Warsaw R&D office. You will test large-scale backup and data protection scenarios affecting enterprise deployments globally, influencing scalability, reliability, and performance of Veeam products.

You will design and execute performance tests, build realistic lab environments, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers, QA, and product managers.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of performance/load testing experience or strong practical performance background.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and/or Linux as power users.
• Ability to analyze test results and identify bottlenecks and risks.
• Solid understanding of CPU, memory, storage, and networking.
• English proficiency for daily international team communication.
• Bonus: experience with databases, cloud, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, and scalability tests for major components.
• Build and maintain enterprise-grade test environments with large topologies.
• Identify bottlenecks and work with devs, QA, and PMs to resolve issues.
• Contribute to root cause analysis of performance problems.

About the Role

The Veeam Quality Assurance team invites you to work on Veeam products with Veeam QA professionals in the Warsaw R&D office.

As a Performance QA Engineer, you will work on large-scale, real-world backup and data protection scenarios used by enterprises worldwide. Your work will directly influence the scalability, reliability, and performance of Veeam products running in some of the most demanding environments.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute performance, load, and scalability testing for major components of Veeam products(from requirement analysis and lab design to test execution and results analysis)
• Build and maintain realistic enterprise grade test environments, including large infrastructures and complex topologies
• Identify performance bottlenecks and system limits, and work closely with developers, functional QA, and product managers to resolve them
• Participate in root cause analysis of performance issues reported by Technical Support and customers
• Own and evolve performance test labs: environment creation, configuration, monitoring, and collaboration with IT teams

What You'll Bring

• Technical education or a strong, hands on passion for systems and performance
• 1-2 years of experience in performance and/or load testing (or a strong practical background in system performance)
• Ability to analyze test results and clearly identify bottlenecks, limits, and performance risks
• Solid knowledge of Windows and/or Linux at an advanced user or system administration level
• Good understanding of system internals: CPU, memory, storage, networking
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and structured thinking
• Motivation to grow as a performance and scalability engineer
• English proficiency for daily communication within international teams

Bonus Skills

• Experience with databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL), including profiling and performance analysis
• Understanding of virtualization platforms and large virtual environments
• Hands on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Experience with Python
• Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, or similar infrastructure as code tools
