AMD is seeking a Browser Optimization Engineer to drive real-world browser performance improvements on Chromium-based platforms. You’ll work at the intersection of browser engines, OS and hardware, identifying bottlenecks across Blink, V8, Skia, and GPU layers, delivering measurable user‑visible gains.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience optimizing Chromium-based browsers.
• Strong proficiency in C++ with performance-focused mindset.
• Experience using profiling and tracing tools to drive optimization.

Responsibilities

• Profile and optimize performance across Chromium subsystems such as Blink, V8, Skia, GPU/ANGLE and multi‑process architecture.
• Identify CPU, memory, GPU, and power bottlenecks with real‑world workloads and telemetry.
• Implement page load, rendering, and JavaScript execution improvements for faster experiences.
• Drive cross‑platform optimizations with a focus on Windows; exposure to Linux/macOS.
• Analyze system behavior with Perfetto, ETW, Chrome Tracing, VTune, PIX, GPUView, and perf.
• Collaborate with browser vendors, OS, compiler teams and hardware partners to co‑optimize.
• Contribute patches to Chromium or related codebases where appropriate.
• Translate profiling insights into scalable, user‑facing gains and document results clearly.
