Job summary

Planet is seeking a Payment Exceptions Officer to investigate and resolve payment issues, ensuring timely processing while minimising financial, operational, and compliance risks. You will work with internal teams, banks, merchants and customers to identify root causes and implement effective resolutions.

The role requires strong English, numeracy, and Excel skills, plus the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-growing global company with a hybrid office model.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in the Payments industry is essential.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve payment exceptions (rejected, failed, duplicated, delayed, or unmatched transactions).
• Monitor payment processing systems for anomalies and discrepancies.
• Analyze payment data to identify root causes of exceptions.
• Coordinate with internal teams, banks, card schemes, and partners to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements and card scheme rules.
• Maintain records of investigations and actions taken.
• Support process improvements to reduce exceptions and boost efficiency.
• Prepare reports on exception trends and performance metrics.
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and knowledge documentation.
