Job summary

Planet is seeking an execution-focused professional to join our Operations team as an Operations Change Specialist. You will work with leadership and SMEs to ensure new products have operational support for BAU delivery, identify initiatives to drive efficiency and revenue, and ensure readiness for regulatory assessments.

You will lead change projects, manage stakeholders, and collaborate with the Product team to capture initiatives with Ops impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in project governance, process/continuous improvement, KPI design and analysis.
• Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders to understand problems, develop solutions, and implement outcomes.
• Experience in financial services/payments environments and an interest in AI/automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead on operations change projects delivering to time, cost, quality, and compliance requirements with mitigating plans.
• Identify, analyse, business case, and deliver improvement initiatives to accelerate revenue or optimise costs.
• Collaborate with Product to capture Ops impact at intake stage for new initiatives.
• Align with Ops heads to assess potential impact on Ops for new initiatives and report progress to Steering committees.
• Provide status reports and project plans to stakeholders at appropriate frequency.
• Enhance the Ops Change framework and contribute to Playbook evolution and maturity.
• Build relationships across functions to influence, collaborate and drive change.
• Leverage best practices, simplify processes, tools and systems.
• Represent Operations Change Team Manager when required on initiatives.

Role Overview

The primary function of this execution focused role is to work with relevant leadership and key SMEs within Planet to (1) ensure key operations have an understanding of what new products and solutions require operational support to deliver in a BAU fashion (2) identify and implement initiatives driving efficiency, increased revenue, customer retention, maintaining business continuity and / or reducing regulatory risks. In carrying out this role the person will provide specialist expertise in managing process and people change within Operations. They will have a direct and tangible impact on the continuous improvement of E2E operations activity as well as ensuring readiness for regulatory and third-party assessments.

What you will do

• Lead on key operations change projects delivering to time, cost, quality, and compliance requirements – highlighting risk and opportunities where appropriate with mitigation plans
• Act as thought leader and work with Operations leadership to identify, analyse, business case, and deliver improvement initiatives that help accelerate revenue, optimise costs, or enhance our customer experience
• Working closely with the Product team to capture initiatives at Intake stage that may have an Ops impact/ dependency
• Align with Ops Heads and subject matter experts in each Ops function to assess potential impact on Ops for new initiatives and make recommendations to Operations Change Team manager; Manage stakeholder forums updating on key project progress, risks, and issues to the various teams and functions within Transformation Steercos and Control Towers – managing key inputs and outputs
• Provide flash updates and status reports & project plans / documentation to key stakeholders at appropriate frequency
• Enhance the Ops Change framework, and contribute to the evolution and maturity of the Ops Change Playbook
• Building strong relationships at all levels, including peers and colleagues across the various functions to influence, collaborate, and drive change
• Help leverage best practices, simplify processes, tools and systems
• Deputise for Operations Change Team Manager where required on other key Planet initiatives

Who you are

Someone with the desire to drive best-for-business change within teams and across Operations through a combination of high energy, logic, emotional intelligence and empathy. This will require you to be able to demonstrate experience in:

• Methodologies covering project governance and reporting, process / continuous improvement, impact assessments, business case development, root case analysis, and KPI design and analysis
• Working with wide ranges of stakeholders (SLT to front line, highly experience to new starters) to understand problems, develop solutions, and implement outcomes
• Doing the above in financial services / payments environments
• A keen interest in AI and automation (added bonus if you have actively been part of implementations)
• Working independently of direct day to day management owning the end to end outcome on behalf of sponsors
