Nordstrom seeks an Orchestration Team Engineer to develop and maintain robust data platforms that simplify ETL/ELT operations. You will enable engineers, data scientists, and analysts to extract actionable insights with minimal friction from diverse sources such as Kafka, S3, GCS, BigQuery, and Postgres.

The role emphasizes SQL/Python development, Terraform-based infrastructure management, and scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines across diverse data sources.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
• Strong knowledge of BigQuery, GCS, and cloud data platforms (GCP).
• Experience with orchestration, data governance, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Platform Support: perform production and on-call support; coordinate with onshore/offshore teams.
• Platform Development: evolve and maintain orchestration platforms to simplify ETL/ELT for users.
• Infrastructure as Code: provision cloud data infra declaratively with Terraform and automated pipelines.
• Integration: connect data sources/destinations with high performance and reliability.
• Data Governance & Metadata: build metadata cataloging and data lineage capabilities.
• Scalability: design scalable, resilient solutions handling large data volumes.
• Innovation: stay current with big data, ETL, and AI-assisted tooling.
• Documentation: create and maintain comprehensive user-facing docs.
