Job summary

Ubique Systems is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to manage large Exadata/ExaCC estates, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate environments. The role requires strong automation skills and incident coordination with Oracle Support.

The candidate will perform patches, upgrades, backups and DR testing across Unix/Windows, mentor junior DBAs, and ensure compliance and security for mission-critical databases.

Qualifications

• Active Oracle 11g/12c certification is required.
• Strong DBA and troubleshooting skills with Oracle environments.
• Experience in Global Customer environments.
• Experience with upgrades/migrations on Exadata/ExaCC HA (RAC) setups.
• Experience with provisioning and decommissioning databases (Instance/ASM/RAC/Grid Control/DataGuard/GoldenGate).
• Familiarity with OEM/OMS monitoring tools and scripting automation.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale Oracle database estates including Exadata and ExaCC.
• Administer Exadata (On-Prem) and ExaCC; coordinate with OCI & Oracle Support for incidents.
• Perform patching, migration, and upgrade of Oracle databases across Unix and Windows.
• Design HA and DR solutions using RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate on Exadata/ExaCC.
• Manage ASM/ACFS disk groups across various deployments.
• Conduct RMAN backups/restores and migrations; ensure data integrity.
• Monitor with OEM; tune with AWR/ADDM/ASH and Exadata optimizations.
• Implement security/compliance and VAPT controls for hosted databases.
• Coordinate Sev-1/Major incidents with Oracle Support and OCI teams.
• Mentor L1/L2 DBAs and provide on-call support for mission-critical databases.

Location: Gdańsk

Work mode: hybrid, 3 days from the office

Responsibilities:

Managing large-scale Oracle database estates including TB-scale Exadata and ExaCC environments.

• Hands-on administration of Oracle Exadata (On-Prem) and ExaCC, including: Infrastructure and VM Cluster awareness, Database lifecycle operations on ExaCC, Coordination with OCI & Oracle Support for ExaCC incidents.
• Installation, administration, patching, migration and upgrade of Oracle databases across Unix and Windows platforms.
• Designing and implementing High Availability and DR solutions using RAC, Data Guard and GoldenGate on both Exadata and ExaCC platforms.
• Hands-on experience with ASM/ACFS disk group management across Bare Metal, VM-based, Exadata and ExaCC deployments.
• RMAN operations including backup, restore, refresh, clone, migration and upgrade (host-to-host, host-to-VM, Exadata to ExaCC).
• Patch management and lifecycle planning for Oracle databases, Grid Infrastructure and Exadata/ExaCC platforms.
• Expert knowledge of OEM monitoring for Exadata and ExaCC targets, including alerting, performance metrics and capacity tracking.
• Performance tuning using AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQL Baselines, SQL Profiles, ExaCheck and advisory views, including Exadata-specific optimizations.
• Implementing and periodically reviewing security, compliance and VAPT controls for databases hosted on Exadata and ExaCC.
• Coordinating with Oracle Support and OCI teams for Sev-1 / Major Incidents on Exadata & ExaCC.
• Proactive performance analysis and recommendations to application and business teams.
• Understanding of upstream/downstream systems – server, storage, network and virtualization layers.
• Automation using shell and PL/SQL scripts; periodic validation of automation effectiveness.
• SLA tracking, reporting and capacity planning for Exadata/ExaCC platforms.
• Preparing and maintaining audit-ready SOPs for Oracle, Exadata and ExaCC operations.
• Identifying, documenting and mitigating technology risks including ExaCC platform dependencies.
• Mentoring L1/L2 DBAs on Oracle, Exadata and ExaCC operational best practices.
• Providing on-call support for mission-critical databases

Requirements:

Certification – Oracle 11g/12c certified.

• Strong database administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience working in Global Customer environment.
• Database Upgrades & Migrations (On-Prem → Exadata → ExaCC High availability (RAC) setup and administration.
• Real time experience in handling Disaster recovery design, planning, setup and administration
• Expert in Provisioning and decommissioning of Database including Instance/ASM/RAC/Grid Control/DataGuard/GoldenGate administration and monitoring tools.
• OEM/OMS administration and Monitoring tools Configuration and management.
• Automation through scripting.
• Strong performance analysis on AWR, ADDM, SQL Profile, ASH RAC Check, EXA Check and advisory views.
• Experience on OS, Storage, Network and Virtualization activities related to Database.
