Job description

Reuters is seeking a graduate who can speak fluent English and advanced German to join its real-time news operation in Gdansk, Poland.

The reporter will work in a fast-paced, international environment and produce headlines and stories about German, Austrian, and Swiss companies, from Europe’s biggest economies, and become part of Reuters' global network. The reporters will also have the opportunity to produce multimedia packages for online clients.

Trading desks, hedge funds, and asset managers at major multinational banks use subscription-based Eikon terminals to get fast and accurate information for investment decisions. Your stories will also be accessible to media clients via Reuters.com and other platforms, reaching one billion people daily.

About the Role

As our News Reporter, you will:

  • Write headlines and news summaries accurately, quickly, and credibly, following Reuters principles and standards.
  • Identify market-moving figures and comments from sources like news releases, conference calls, and webcasts.
  • Explain reasons behind stock movements through short stories.
  • Write short alerts on Austrian and Swiss macroeconomic data such as GDP and inflation.
About You

To be our News Reporter, you will likely have:

  • Fluency in English and advanced German.
  • Comfort handling financial data accurately and swiftly.
  • Ability to write with speed, clarity, accuracy, and impartiality.
  • Strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work under time pressure.
  • Willingness to undertake shifts.
