Job summary

HeadHR is seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage Linux servers, networks and services in a hybrid Katowice office. You will monitor HA systems, plan deployments, and document configurations while collaborating with hardware, software and network providers. A strong Linux background and English reading skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the position of system administrator.
• Strong Linux (Debian) expertise.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, iptables, VLANs, routing, VPN, OSPF/BGP.
• Experience with Web, Mail, DNS, Monitoring, LDAP services.
• Containerization using Docker.
• Hardware diagnosis and fault isolation from Linux console.
• MySQL/MariaDB administration.
• Scripting in Bash/Perl/Python/PHP.
• Virtualization with VMware/Proxmox.
• Licensing for VMware/Oracle/Windows.
• Networking and storage concepts including SAN/NAS.
• Git/Ansible/Puppet for automation.
• Backup policy creation.
• Teamwork and communication.
• Willingness to continuously learn modern tech.
• Proficient English for reading technical docs.
• Willingness for rotating 24-hour on-call duty.

Responsibilities

• Install and administer Linux servers in production.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the position of system administrator
• Very good knowledge of the Linux system (Debian)
• Very good knowledge of networking topics: TCP/IP, iptables, VLAN, routing, VPN, VLAN, bridging, bonding, radius, OSPF, BGP
• Very good knowledge of services: Web, Mail, DNS, Monitoring, LDAP
• Very good knowledge of containerization using Docker
• Knowledge of service-related issues concerning computer hardware
• Knowledge of issues related to diagnosing hardware problems from the Linux console
• Knowledge of database administration: MySQL, MariaDB
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Bash, Perl, Python, PHP
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Proxmox
• Knowledge of licensing for products such as VMware/Oracle/Windows
• Knowledge of issues related to network configuration and SAN/NAS arrays
• Knowledge of git/ansible/puppet
• Knowledge of backup policy creation
