Job summary

Avenga seeks an MLOps Engineer to join a project for a leading telecommunications operator. You will build and operate production AI/ML platforms in AWS, deploying with Terraform and ECS, exposing data via REST APIs.

The role emphasizes secure, reliable cloud infrastructure in a regulated env, with monitoring, security scanning and GitHub-based workflows. This is a 6-month B2B engagement with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and operating production AI/ML or GenAI platforms in AWS.
• Strong practical knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including ECS, IAM and Secrets Manager.
• Experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
• Proficient in containerisation using Docker and production deployment practices.
• Experience setting up cloud security, access controls, secrets management and encryption.
• Know how to implement monitoring, logging and operational controls for production systems.
• Ability to build and expose data and application capabilities through REST APIs.
• Practical Python experience and ability to develop production-quality services and automation.
• Ability to write automated tests using pytest and related tooling.
• Experience implementing security scanning and improving platform performance and reliability.
• Comfortable with GitHub workflows, PRs and code reviews.
• Clear communication, ownership of delivered solutions and risk identification.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure supporting a production agentic AI platform.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices, preferably with Terraform.
• Containerise and deploy AI platform components in AWS, including ECS.
• Configure IAM, secrets management, encryption and other security controls for a regulated environment.
• Implement monitoring, logging, security scanning and performance controls across the platform.
• Develop Python services and REST APIs for AI-driven workflows.
• Contribute to retrieval-augmented generation solutions.
• Support LLM orchestration and integration of AI agents with external services.
• Help evaluate and improve retrieval quality, response accuracy and system reliability.
• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests with pytest.
• Participate in design discussions, PR reviews and GitHub workflows.
• Take end-to-end ownership of components to ensure production-readiness.
