Job summary

Codilime is looking for a Senior CDN Automation Engineer to design and implement the logic for converting configurations between CDN solutions and to shape the architecture of the migration framework.

You will contribute to production-grade software in Python, work with REST APIs, and collaborate with CDN SMEs to continuously improve the automation framework in an international setting with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CDN experience across multiple vendors (Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, CloudFront, Google Cloud CDN, Azure Front Door)
• Experience with CDN APIs/CLIs and CDN migrations
• Strong HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, caching knowledge
• Solid Python skills, REST APIs, JSON/YAML
• Experience with production-grade deployments
• Knowledge of Linux
• English fluency (B2+)
• Willingness to learn and work in an international environment

The project and the team

We are a Network Automation team building software that automates complex networking workflows, and we are looking for a CDN Engineer to further extend our expertise. The team will design and build new production-grade software that converts configurations of various CDN vendors at scale.

Other things to know:

• The project team brings together Network and Software Engineers

• We collaborate closely with the customer's Professional Services and Engineering teams

• The customer is an international organization with teams in the US, Europe and Australia

Your role

As part of the project team, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing the business logic for converting configurations between different CDN solutions

• Shaping the software architecture of the conversion and migration framework

• Contributing to production of software development in Python - developing, testing and maintaining it to high quality and reliability standards

• Building and maintaining the product roadmap, and delivering against it based on real-life customer configurations

• Working as part of the Development team and cooperating closely with other CDN Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to continuously improve the automation framework

Do we have a match?

As a Senior CDN Automation Engineer, you should ideally meet the following criteria:

• Hands-on experience with CDN solutions of various vendors (e.g. Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, Amazon CloudFront, Google Cloud CDN, Azure Front Door)

• Hands-on experience with CDN providers' APIs and CLIs

• Experience with CDN configuration, preferably migrations between different vendors

• Strong expertise in HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, caching and content delivery concepts

• Good knowledge of CDN solutions

• Solid Python skills, including working with REST APIs, JSON/YAML data and writing maintainable, tested code

• Experience working with customers or business stakeholders on technical projects

• Experience with production-grade deployments

• Knowledge of Linux

• 5+ years of experience in CDN, web infrastructure, networking or related roles

• Fluency in English (minimum B2 level)

• Willingness to learn – you will face challenges that require creativity, individual solutions and teamwork

• Readiness to work in an international environment with customers located around the globe, which may require flexibility in working hours

Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate:

• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform

• Knowledge of web application security: WAF, bot management, DDoS protection, rate limiting

• Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines

• Understanding of DevOps tools and practices

• CDN vendor certification
